Mayor of Bridport Ian Bark has praised a ‘phenomenal’ turn out at the West Bay beach clean in memory of the late Simon Jordan.
As reported, around 130 litter pickers collected a whopping 115.2kg of waste at the January 2 event.
Cllr Bark thanked various people and organisations who supported the event - and said another litter pick was due to take place tomorrow - Sunday, January 16 (meet at 10am outside the Watch House Café and collect a bag and picker).
Cllr Bark said of the memorial clean-up: “The end result of this very emotional day was a grand clear up of West Bay’s beaches and harbourside, resulting in a brilliant 115.2kg of litter removed. It was worth every tear and I have no doubt Simon was smiling down upon us.”
