Bearing in mind that the Vearse Farm/Foundry Lea development is set to go ahead despite overwhelming local opposition, can we assume that, being in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the architecture will also be outstanding and in keeping with its surroundings, including the affordable housing element?
If so, despite my previous misgivings regarding this development and providing all appropriate infrastructure is in place, this could benefit Bridport by bolstering trade for local small shops/businesses who are often reliant on seasonal trade to survive.
My only concern then would be the limited parking in town which seems often to be sidelined but needs to be addressed.
To hope that all new residents in Foundry Lea will happily abandon their cars and take to cycling or walking into town is unrealistic and the planners must know this.
