A temporary Lyme Regis town bus timetable is in place while town centre roads are closed through January and February.

Part of Church Street and Bridge Street is now closed until February 18 while works are carried out to traffic signals by Dorset Council and repairs are made to the Guildhall by Lyme Regis Town Council.

It means a temporary timetable for the number 71 town bus will be in place for this period. You can see it, along with a map of the revised route on the town council website.

As reported, the six-week closure affects the main route (A3052) through Lyme Regis and significant disruption is expected.

Due to the extremely narrow width of the road, the location of the work and the space required for the Guildhall scaffolding, it is said that the only way to carry out the repairs and highway maintenance is under a road closure.

Dorset Council said it has carefully considered the timing of these works.
