A POPULAR Dorset beer festival has released its second batch of tickets for the 2022 event.

Organisers of Dorchester Beerex have made their second round of tickets available for the 33rd event to be held in the Corn Exchange. It is returning after a two-year absence.

Held on Friday February 4 and Saturday February 5, money raised from Dorchester Beerex goes towards helping good causes in the area.

Beerex spokesperson Rich Gabe said: “This year has raised organisational challenges like never seen by us before, our priority is running a charity fundraising event as safely as possible and giving customers a great time.

“Beerex makes a superb night out while raising money for good causes like this year’s main charity the Dorchester Youth & Community Centre (DYCC)."

Having started in 1988 the event has raised in excess of £200,000 for good causes.

This year the DYCC was chosen as the main charity, much to the delight of Kate Parkham, the youth work manager at the Dorchester Youth and Community Centre.

She said: “We are delighted that Dorchester Beerex has made us the main charity for 2022. The funds raised will make a huge difference, helping us to provide young people a safe space to socialise along with a range of activities and support.”

On the day a wide selection of beers will be offered as part of the event that has been ‘missed’ over the past two years due to the pandemic.

Beerex chairman Ellis Ford said: “Beer festivals are a great British institution and something we have missed for the last two years.
