The Scout Post is back for this Christmas - make sure you post your cards before the end of this week.

The service is run by Dorchester and West Dorset District Scout Council and delivers Christmas cards to areas including around Bridport and Beaminster and some outlying villages - check which areas are covered before posting.

No stamp is required - post your greeting cards in one of the many yellow post boxes together with 30p for each card and an army of volunteers will do the rest. Ensure the card is properly addressed and include the postcode if you can. The service runs until December 18 and all proceeds go directly to Scout funds.

Several members of the Bridport Rotary Club are getting some much-needed pre-Christmas exercise by joining other volunteers in the delivery of Christmas post in and around Bridport.

Club President Bernard Paull said: “The Scout Post has been delivering Christmas cards since 1988 and has raised a huge amount of money to support Scouting activities. It is a pleasure to support this incredibly well run local initiative - not by handing over money but by joining the many other volunteers to help another charity raise much needed funds.”
