ONE Dorset care home is celebrating after the site achieved a ‘good’ rating from its very first inspection.

The Care Quality Commission awarded Trinity Manor Care Home in Sherborne the grading following an inspection on September 29.

The home, run by Barchester Healthcare, was found to be ‘good’ in four areas which were safety, responsiveness, effectiveness and being well-led, as well as outstanding for care.

“I cannot begin to tell you how incredibly proud I feel of the whole team here at Trinity Manor,” said Sohail Daniel, general manager at Trinity Manor.

“They have all worked so tirelessly and willingly through one of the toughest periods I have ever known in my career for this industry, and for us to have our very first inspection and get ‘outstanding’ for care is just phenomenal.”

The home only opened its doors in December 2019 but was commended in the report for staff ‘treating people with kindness and respect’, each person ‘being seen as an individual’ and a relaxed and unhurried ‘atmosphere’.

Ms Daniel added: “The report makes for some wonderful reading and I just feel so elated for the team.”
