AN INVESTIGATION is ongoing over a sexual assault on a woman in Poole.

Officers are carrying out enquiries following a report that a woman aged in her 60s was sexually assaulted in North Road, near to the junction with Danecourt Road, at around 8pm on Thursday, October 21.

It was alleged that a man who was known to her touched her sexually over her clothing.

The matter was reported to Dorset Police on Wednesday, November 17.

A local man aged in his 50s has attended for a voluntary police interview and is assisting officers with their ongoing investigation.

Police Constable Alice Beavon, of Poole police, said: “Since receiving this report we have been carrying out a number of enquiries into this incident.

“I appreciate this report occurred some time ago now, but I am appealing to anyone who may recall witnessing the incident, or who may have captured anything relevant on dashcam footage, to please contact us.”
