DECIDING to do some early Christmas shopping and keeping it local for Bridport’s small shops, we ventured into town. First stop - Wyke car park. Two ticket machines, one appeared unplugged the other actually stated out of order. Moving on to East Street car park - machine stated out of order. Moving on to Waitrose - two cash machines out of order.
I do not have an App and object to paying a fee for ringing and spending an age on the phone which I started to do and gave up. Result; returned home and will later either venture to another town (Yeovil or Taunton) or shop online.
I really get the impression this is a ploy by the council to remove the cash machines altogether as they are not used! Not a good result for local shopping, plus met with many many other disgruntled shoppers.
