A MAN has been fined for exceeding the speed limit on a Bridport road by more than 20mph.
Jack Edward Darley, aged 30, of Alexandra Road in Dorchester, appeared at Weymouth Magistrates' Court on Monday, October 18.
Darley pleaded guilty to driving a car at 74mph on the A35 trunk road, also known as the Bridport Bypass, on which the speed limit is 50mph.
As a result, the court fined Darley £291, ordered him to pay a surcharge of £34 along with covering £90 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
He also received six penalty points on his driver's licence.
