A SECTION of a road just outside of Bridport is set to close, resulting in a twelve mile diversion route.

Mangerton Lane is set to close in both directions from its junction with Ruscombe Lane to its junction with Townsend Way. The road will be closed from Monday, December 6 until Wednesday, December 8.

The closure is set to be carried out so that Openreach workers can carry out 'rod and rope works'.

For the duration of the closure, a 12.5 mile diversion route will be in place - taking drivers on to the B3163 and onto the A3066 Bridport road before returning to Townsend Way. The diversion will take roughly 28 minutes.

Openreach will publicise the road closure both by placing information boards on the road area to inform the travelling public of the works and delivering letters to local residents directly affected by the works.

Anyone with any concerns or wish to discuss any issues regarding the roadworks can contact Dorset Council online via http://www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/roadworks/enquiries
