THROUGHOUT this week Dorset has been starring in Channel 4’s The Perfect Pitch as three sets of camping enthusiasts travel around the county looking for their ‘perfect pitch' - with the finale airing tonight, October 15.

The county actually features in four episodes across the week, but having started over in neighbouring Devon duo Steph and Cam, Harriet and Nik, and the the Webber family only stay at three Dorset sites as they tour the Jurassic Coast.

Here is your guide to the Dorset campsites featured on the show, including where to find them and further additional information about them all.

 

Higher Moor Farm

Bridport and Lyme Regis News:

On Wednesday’s episodes of the show the guests visit Higher Moor Farm which is just north of Weymouth in the village of Nottington. The site catered for sailing crowds during the 2012 Olympics and offers award winning facilities including a farm shop, play areas and indoor games barn at the family-run business. Research by motorhome rental company, Camptoo, even ranked Higher Moor Farm as the best in the UK in May this year. Throughout the summer holidays there is a vintage marquee bar from Friday to Sunday, and in high season Dorset Wood Fired Pizza visit once a week. The site caters for tents, caravans and motorhomes.

 

Longthorns Farm

For the guests' second night in the county they pitched up at Longthorns Farm, which is located north of Wool near Bovington. This farm has been welcoming campers since 1976 and boasts 47 acres of fields and woodlands to explore. The site accommodates tents, caravans, motorhomes and campervans in a relaxed atmosphere. The farm even has alpacas which campers can get involved with, on The Perfect Pitch the guests on the show can be seen taking the animals for a walk in Dorset countryside.

Redlands Coppice

On the final episode of the show the camping enthusiasts visit Redlands Coppice, in north Dorset, to experience some wild-camping. The site on the show is a unique pop-up venue tailored to each guest, with each pitch being an entire field. Website pitchup.com describes Redlands Coppice as a site on a working farm. In addition to the glamping the site also caters for other tents, campervans and caravans. Redlands Coppice is located a mile from the village of Piddletrenthide.
