The second and final day of filming for Wonka at a Dorset harbour is well and truly underway as crews film new shots for the upcoming movie.

Warner Bros and the Roald Dahl Story Co’s upcoming movie is currently being filmed on the Cobb in Lyme Regis today (Tuesday, October 12) after starting yesterday (Monday, October 11).

Starring Timothée Chalamet as Willy Wonka, the movie is a brand-new adaptation based on the characters created by children’s author Roald Dahl for the beloved novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The prequel, helmed by Paddington director Paul King, will focus on a young Willy Wonka and his adventures before he opened his famous chocolate factory.

In preparation for the two-day filming, the Cobb was transformed into a winter wonderland and see a young Willy Wonka arrive in England.

Historic vessel Lydia Eva was used for the scenes showing a passenger steamer bringing the main man to the country.

On Monday, Timothée Chalamet was in full costume as Willy Wonka walking along the Cobb carrying a cane and a suitcase.

Comedian Matt Lucas as well as Peep Show star, Paterson Joseph, were also spotted on set and pictured talking to each other. American comedian and actor Keegan-Michael Key also appeared to be at the harbour.

Visiting the set on Tuesday, it appears a musical number may have been filmed with Timothée Chalamet spotted on top of a wine truck which reads J. Moreau & Fils.

Paul King has been spotted talking to his lead actor to presumably discuss the shots, the scene and give him some direction. A stunt double also appears to be used, with another man pictured sitting on a similar wine truck in a Willy Wonka costume.

A number of extras dressed as fishermen and locals have also been at the film set.

The filming has caused a buzz in the seaside town, which has seen a lot of activity with production crews setting up the shots required for the big budget musical.

Councillor Daryl Turner spoke of how tourists and locals are gathering around the harbour to get a sneak peek at the filming.

He previously said: "It’s quite exceptional really. There must be hundreds of staff around the harbour.

“There's clearly a lot of interest from holidaymakers and locals, there’s loads of people on the Cobb trying to figure out what’s going on. It’s definitely captured peoples’ attention.
