I HAVE read with great interest the letters from Lewis Gerolemou and Richard Greer, published respectively in the Bridport News of 23rd and 30th September, regarding pedestrian routes and cycling access to Bridport town centre from the Vearse Farm development.
I feel very strongly that the vast majority of people buying properties at this location are unlikely to walk or cycle into the town. Given the distance, it’s much more likely that they’ll just drive in.
Bridport doesn’t have the car parking space, especially on market days, to accommodate the influx from Vearse Farm. It is already a problem to find parking on certain days, so what is going to happen?
To believe that people will be walking or cycling the two miles from Vearse Farm to Bridport is to believe in fairies at the bottom of the garden.
