OCTOBER is the month of Halloween and that means it is the season for pumpkins and just as importantly pumpkin picking.

Across Dorset there are various places where people can grab their own to carve out for ‘spooky’ season.

Dorset Country Pumpkins at Longclose Farm, Milton Abbas

Bridport and Lyme Regis News:

The Miller family have farmed at Longclose for almost 80 years, but only started offering pumpkins last year. For this October the Millers have expanded their pumpkin patch to include bigger displays and have even introduced a ‘Munchkin Patch’ for children. On October 23 and 24 there will even be a craft fair at the farm. People can go down on Saturday 16 and 17 and then between Saturday 23 until Sunday October 31 to the site Milton Abbas, near Blandford Forum between 10am and 4pm. Parking is free, as is entry, and pumpkins will be priced based on their size. Dorset Lamb will also be on site selling hot food and drinks everyday.

Dewflock Farm, Winterborne Monkton

Starting from October 9, Dewflock Farm will be offering time slots to go pumpkin picking at their site. Tickets cost £5 and must be booked in advance, which can be done online via eventbrite. Straw play, a bouncy castle, face painting and mini land rovers will be on offer to make the most of each session. There will also be a pop-up cafe with coffee, cakes and wood fired oven pizzas.

Cat and Fiddle Farm, Hinton Admiral
