A VEHICLE'S windscreen was smashed in a 'reckless' attack over the weekend.

Dorset Police say the reported incident, which occurred at around 2.15am on Sunday, September 26, saw the windscreen of a parked vehicle on East Street in Bridport damaged.

It is reported that a group of people were seen running away from the area in the direction of South Street.

An investigation has been launched into the incident and police officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Police Constable Neil Gauden, of Bridport police, said: “This reckless damage has a significant impact on the victim and we are carrying out enquiries to identify who was responsible.

“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened, or saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area, to please come forward.

“I would also urge local residents and businesses to please check their CCTV systems for any footage that may assist my investigation.”
