A PERSON has been air lifted to hospital after they suffered 'serious injuries' in a crash involving a car and a motorcycle.

Dorset Police and paramedics were called to reports of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle on the B3157 at Langton Cross at 10.34am this morning.

One person was airlifted to hospital and is being treated for a serious leg injury.

Road closures are in place while emergency services attend.

A spokesman for South Westeran Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 10.34am about a road traffic collision reportedly involving a motorbike and a car on the B3157 near Weymouth.

"We sent various resources to attend the incident including a land ambulance crew, air ambulance crew and critical care team.

"We treated a male patient at the scene and conveyed him to hospital by air ambulance with a serious leg injury."

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 10.34am of a collision involving a car and a motorcycle on the B3157 at Langton Cross.

"Officers have attended, along with the ambulance service, and one person is being treated for injuries that are believed to be serious.

"Road closures have been put in place as the emergency services respond to the incident."

The road remains closed and police have issued the following update on Twitter:
