RESIDENTS and shop owners in Bridport are being encouraged to share their views on shopping in the town centre.

Bridport Town Centre Health Check 2021 is currently being undertaken by Bridport Town Council.

Town centre health checks are a means of assessing the vitality, viability, resilience and performance of town centres over time. This year's survey includes questions surrounding the impact the pandemic has had on town centre shops, asking residents if they now shop online more often.

The survey will run through to Tuesday, October 19 and consists of footfall counts, a products and services survey, shoppers and retailers questionnaires and crime date. All data collected for the 2021 health check will be held by the town council and be used to inform development proposals and build a robust evidence base for future reviews of the local and neighbourhood plans.

Bridport Town Council will complete a report on the 2021 health check for consideration by the town centre working group in November.

The survey runs through to October 19 and includes footfall counts, surveys of shoppers and retailers and an audit of products and services on offer in the centre of Bridport.
