ROADWORKS are due to take place next week, with a diversion route in place which will take drivers through Bridport town centre.

A section of Pymore Lane will be closed, from its junction with Pymore Road to Meadow Bank House, on Tuesday, September 28. The road closure notice can remain in force for up to five days if necessary but it is anticipated that the works will be completed on the day.

A 4.5 mile diversion route will be in place, taking drivers on to West Street and East Street, in the Bridport town centre, before turning onto Sea Road North.

The road closure will be in place whilst Western Power Distribution workers carry out works to replace poles and equipment in the highway.

Works will then continue the following day, Wednesday, September 29, on Pymore Road, from the Pymore Inn to the junction with Pymore Lane and Watford Lane. This work is expected to continue until Thursday, September 30 and a smaller 2.3 mile diversion route will be in place, taking drivers down to Coneygar Road before turning left onto Beaminster Road.
