FIREFIGHTERS rushed to extinguish an abandoned bonfire on a commercial yard.
One fire engine from Bridport Fire Station was sent to reports of a fire in the open on Bredy Road, Burton Bradstock, at 7.52pm on September 11.
Upon arrival, firefighters gained access to a commercial yard and found an unattended bonfire which they extinguished using one hose reel jet.
A spokesman for Bridport Fire Station said: "One appliance was mobilised to a fire in the open on Bredy Road, Burton Bradstock.
"On arrival crews gained access to commercial yard and found a small unattended bonfire. It was extinguished using one hose reel jet."
Firefighters have taken the opportunity to issue a warning to anyone planning on having a controlled burn.
A spokesman for Bridport Fire Station said: "If you're having a controlled burn never leave unattended and always have safety measures in place should it go out of control."
