LETTERS reminding people to respond to the annual electoral canvass are soon to be sent out.
People living in the Dorset Council area should have already received a letter asking them to check their electoral registration details are correct to make sure they retain their right to vote in future elections and referendums.
Reminder letters will be sent out from September 13 to those households who are yet to respond to their initial letter.
A spokesman for Dorset Council said: "Reminder letters will be sent next week commencing September 13 to households yet to respond to the annual electoral canvass.
"If you receive a reminder, please follow the instructions on the form to ensure our records are up to date. Thank you."
Jonathan Mair, corporate director - legal and democratic at Dorset Council, added: "It's really important that everyone who is entitled to vote is able to do so.
"Being registered to vote gives you the chance to have a say on who represents you. It also helps when applying for credit."
Any residents who have any questions can contact the council's elections team on 01305 838299.
