A WOMAN was rescued and taken to hospital after suffering from multiple injuries she sustained in a fall.
The Lyme Regis Coastguard Team was called out at 12.14pm on Friday September 3 to assist lifeguards with a female casualty who had sustained an ankle and hip injury after falling at the waters edge on the main beach at Lyme Regis.
The RNLI lifeguards provided casualty care but needed help to move the casualty to avoid the rapidly incoming tide.
The injured woman was successfully relocated and handed over to paramedics who took her to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for further treatment.
A spokesman for the Lyme Regis Coastguard Team said: "The lifeguards and coastguards carefully packaged the casualty and relocated her from the beach and the direct sunlight whilst waiting for the ambulance. The casualty was handed over to paramedics and the lady was taken to RDE hospital for further treatment.
"We wish the casualty a speedy recovery."
