A ROTARY club is raising money for victims of the Haiti earthquake.

The Rotary Club of Lyme Regis has been raising funds for to support victims of the earthquake in Haiti on Saturday, August 14 and Hurricane Grace two days later.

More than 2,000 people lost their lives in the tragedy with hundreds more missing and more than 20,000 made homeless as a result.

Upon hearing of the tragedy, rotary club members organised a street collection for the victims to help alleviate their suffering.

The rotary club would like to thank everyone who donated and as a result of the public's generosity will be sending £500 to Water Survival Box, a rotary club initiative which aims to provide a means of purifying water for the benefit of families that survive natural or man-made disasters.
