A NUMBER of food kiosks at West Bay were broken into over the bank holiday weekend.

Police are appealing for information following a series of break-ins and attempted break-ins at the food kiosks over the weekend.

It was reported that two kiosks were broken into during the early hours of Sunday, August 29, with cash and electronic items stolen, and there was also believed to have been an attempt to break into a third unit.

Two further break-ins were reported on the night of Monday, August 30 into the early hours of Tuesday, August 31, with cash stolen as well as a mobile phone and other items.

Police Constable Matthew Barrett, of West Dorset police, said: “We appreciate these incidents have caused considerable inconvenience to local traders and we are carrying out a number of enquiries to identify who is responsible.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area over the Bank Holiday weekend, or who has any information that might assist our investigation, to please come forward.”
