THE Met Office has said Dorset could be in for thundery showers this weekend.

Cloud with brighter spells developing is being forecast for today and the rest of the week in Dorset.

The Met Office said most of the county can expect cloudy skies for the next two days with sunnier spells Friday onwards.

It comes after a glorious weekend of heat, where temperatures soared into the 20s.

Today will remain cloudy with breaks of sun around 2pm and 7pm this evening - with temperatures to reach 20°C.

Thursday will also remain cloudy with sun around 5pm as temperatures expect to peak at 20°C again.

Outlook for Friday will see a cloudy start with sunny spells developing, but into the weekend this will be accompanied by isolated showers and breezy winds for Saturday.

It is predicted to turn unsettled from early Sunday, with rain and possibly thundery showers arriving.
