A GREAT day out for gardeners is planned at Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens on Sunday, September 12 when the specialist Plant Fair returns.

Organised by Plant Heritage Dorset, with profits supporting plant conservation and education in the county, there will be the opportunity to buy plants direct from the growers, as well as getting their invaluable tips and advice.

An interesting range of late summer and autumn plants will be on offer including late flowering perennials, shrubs, ornamental grasses, alpines, succulents as well as rare and unusual specimens.

There will also be wildlife and craft stalls, bee and honey products, lots of plants to attract pollinators and a refreshment stall.

The fair runs from 10am to 3pm and the £7 admission includes the chance to wander the 30-acre gardens until 5pm. Tickets can be booked in advance at abbotsburytickets.co.uk or bought on the gate.
