MEMBERS of the public who have spotted a hedgehog this year are encouraged to take part in a survey.

Dorset Wildlife Trust (DWT) has launched a hedgehog survey to learn more about the animals and their behaviour patterns in the county.

The trust launches a hedgehog survey every year and received thousands of responses in 2020.

A spokesman for DWT said: "Hedgehog numbers have fallen by 30 per cent in just 10 years. Please help us understand more about Dorset's hedgehogs by completing our two minute survey.

"On submission of your answers, we'll email you a 16-page guide to helping hedgehogs to say thank you.

"If you completed our hedgehog survey in 2020, we'd love to hear from you again with your 2021 sightings."

For more information and to participate in the survey, visit the DWT website.
