THE publication of a 'concise but packed' book of talks by a preacher will be celebrated at an event.

'Treasures from a Deep Mine' is a book of 40 talks by the late Alison Daunton-Fear. It was edited by her daughter Mary Treacher, from Beaminster, and son Andrew Daunton-Fear, from Bristol.

Mary and Andrew have organised an event to celebrate the publication of the book will take place at St John's Catholic Church, Beaminster, at 2pm on Saturday, September 11.

A spokesman for publisher Onwards and Upwards said: "This book is a collection of 40 talks by Alison Daunton-Fear, a gifted preacher whose ministry spanned a large part of the twentieth century, including during the years of the Second World War.

"Alison’s talks reflect her radiant Christian faith and beauty of spirit, her extensive knowledge of the Bible, and her deep love and understanding of the needs of humanity.

"They are concise but packed with spiritual truth with practical application that both challenges and encourages."
