MORE information has come to light on a dramatic multi-agency rescue on the Jurassic Coast.

As reported, firefighters, police, paramedic crews, an air ambulance and a coastguard air ambulance were all called to Eype, Bridport, on Wednesday afternoon after receiving reports that a woman was calling for help on the cliff face.

A doctor and paramedic from the air ambulance reached the woman to assess her and make sure she was okay. Meanwhile, the woman's husband had scrambled up the cliff face and also needed rescuing.

The rope team from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) brought the woman, her husband, the doctor and the paramedic to safety.

A spokesman for Lyme Regis Coastguard said: "Lyme Regis Coastguard team was tasked to assist our colleagues from West Bay after reports of a woman calling for help down the cliff face at Highlands End, Eype.

"DWFRS were also on scene with crews from Bridport and special rescue teams from Weymouth and Poole. Ambulances, both land and air, were on scene with the police. A coastguard helicopter from St Athan in Wales was also en route.

"The doctor and paramedic from the air ambulance were able to reach the casualty to make an assessment of the casualty. It was decided that the casualty should be recovered to the cliff top by the fire service rope rescue team. The coastguard rope rescue team recovered the doctor, paramedic and the casualty’s husband who had scrambled up the cliff face.

"A successful multi agency operation in a difficult area of unstable cliff."
