A LOCAL dance teacher has published a positive, spiritual and reflective book, written during the first lockdown when her business was forced to close.
The Little Mountain Book was written and curated by dance teacher and artistic director of Bridport Youth Dance, Nikki Northover. She began writing the book in the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, following the sudden closure of the dance studio.
The Little Mountain Book is intended to be a book for quiet reflection - inspiring the reader with messages of hope and self care.
Created during a year in which our world was turned upside down by a pandemic, Nikki describes the book as a 'journey into spirituality', and a 'lovingly crafted reminder that we are all interconnected and that the natural beauty around us has a way of healing and protecting us from the noise of our world'.
The intention behind the book is to give anyone who has had a particularly difficult time during the pandemic some comfort.
The Little Mountain Book includes photography by local born photographers Peter Dibdin and Simon Kossoff, along with local artists Brendan Buesnel, Doug Chalk, Kate Genevieve, Jessica Youé and Jody Harrison with illustrations from Marina Renee-Cemmick, Angelica Pownall, Russ Snedker and Annalisa Renee.
The book is available at a variety of shops, including Bridport Waterstones, The Book Shop, Washingpool Farm, Felicity's Farm Shop and online at www.gingerzebra.shop.
