AN EXERCISE group created for people living with dementia has been relaunched.
Dementia Friendly Bridport and Bridport Leisure Centre have teamed up to provide exercise sessions specifically for people living with dementia and their carers has restarted.
The group is meeting every Tuesday afternoon at the leisure centre for gentle exercise, mixed in with music and games.
The sessions will be run by an experienced instructor who will tailor the activities to the needs of the people in the group if required. A volunteer from Dementia Friendly Bridport will also be in attendance to offer support.
Debra Bates, chairperson of Dementia Friendly Bridport, said: "After such a long time, it was very important to be able to restart the group as so little has been available during the last year for people with dementia and their carers. It is a very special group and Ally has created a lovely atmosphere."
If you or someone you know would like to come along and sample a session at the leisure centre, contact Dementia Friendly Bridport on 07890649561.
