PHOTOS show firefighters tackle a blaze within a grain dryer on a farm in rural Dorset.
Fire crews from Dorchester Fire Station, Sherborne Fire Station, Weymouth Fire Station, Poole Fire Station and Yeovil Fire Station responded to an agricultural fire in Cerne Abbas after 1pm on Tuesday (August 10).
Firefighters were unable to extinguish the blaze inside the dryer so the grain had to be removed using shovels and farm machinery.
Photos from the scene, taken by Bridport Fire Station, show smoke billowing out of the barn as fire crews used water hoses to tackle the blaze.
More firefighters from Weymouth, Poole, Lyme Regis Fire Station and Shaftesbury Fire Station arrived at 7.30pm to provide further support.
A spokesman for Bridport Fire Station said: "On route back from an earlier call out crews were mobilised after an assistance message was received for a grain dryer that had caught fire in Cerne Abbas.
"Dorchester Fire Station, Sherborne Fire Station, Weymouth Fire Station, Poole Fire Station and Yeovil Fire Station all attended.
"Initial attempts to extinguish the fire inside the dryer were unsuccessful so the grain had to be removed manually using shovels and farm machinery.
"Crews used breathing apparatus, hose reel jets, main lines and thermal imaging cameras to extinguish the fire.
"Crews were relieved by Weymouth and Poole night crews, Lyme Regis Fire Station and Shaftesbury Fire Station at 7.30pm with the incident expected to continue on into the evening."
