AN ANNUAL boat blessing service went ahead at the weekend.
Around 150 people attended as Lyme Regis' traditional Blessing of the Boats service went ahead on Sunday, August 1.
The service was hosted by the RNLI at the lifeboat station on the Cobb.
Music was provided by the Lyme Regis town band and the Lyme Moonrakers. Wreaths were laid by members of the Lyme Regis' powerboat club, gig club, sailing club, the Boat Building Academy, Lyme Regis Coastguard, the RNLI and the Royal British Legion.
The wreaths, which were taken to sea by the lifeboat crew, represented commercial fishermen, recreational water users, the RNLI and the Royal British Legion.
Eden Bristow the daughter of an RNLI crew member, read a poem during the service which was conducted by the Rev. Chris Martin and the Rev. Chris Woodman.
