AWARD-WINNING theatre makers - and aliens - are heading to Dorset this summer with an interactive workshop for families, exploring nature and earth science.

Brave Bold Drama are touring The Discovery Lab as part of the Artsreach creative summer programme.

It is home to Kela, Orchi and Amar, travelling aliens on an 'Earth exploration mission'. They come in peace and are extremely invigorated by Earth science, be it plants, bugs and clouds, why things float or the pH of lemon juice.

They're keen to learn more, so children aged six and above are invited to pop along to their pop-up lab to investigate, explore, think and wonder about the biology and environmental science underpinning everyday things spotted at home or outdoors.

The workshop has been devised as an interactive family activity, brought to life with energetic storytelling and performance.

Artsreach is bringing it to the Kingcombe Centre, Toller Porcorum, on Tuesday, August 17, with sessions from 10.30am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-3.30pm.

Set in 450 acres of nature reserve the Kingcombe Centre is one of Dorset’s premier environmental education establishments, and is owned and run by the Dorset Wildlife Trust.

Yvonne Gallimore, Artsreach Co-Director said “It’s exciting to be welcoming award-winning company with a new, engaging piece of interactive performance, and to be able to present The Discovery Lab in such a beautiful environment as The Kingcombe Centre will make it a very special day indeed.”

Tickets for The Discovery Lab must be booked in advance and full details about the event is available online at www.artsreach.co.uk
