AN EVENT took place at the weekend to welcome villagers back to some form of normality.

The Party in the Park went ahead at the Burton Bradstock sports field on Saturday, July 24.

The event was free to everyone who lives in the village along with children who attend Burton Bradstock CE Primary School and their parents.

It was planned to allow Burton Bradstock residents to do 'something relatively normal' following the easing of the most recent coronavirus restrictions.

There was a variety of games on the day - including splat the rat, a pig racing game and a wheel of fortune game - and a teddy bear picnic with everyone invited to bring their own teddies along to celebrate the occasion.

There was also entertainment on hand with children's entertainer Strawberry Jam, and live music performances in the evening.

The event was very well attended and organisers say it was a great success.
