CASH prizes are up for grabs in a children's painting competition.
The organisers of the Bridport Carnival have put together a 'Carnival Painting Competition' with prizes of £20 and £10 up for grabs for the first two places - with the winner's school also receiving £50.
Children are challenged to paint anything carnival, torchlight, firework or bonfire related on an A4 sheet on paper.
With the Bridport Carnival and traditional torchlight processions being cancelled this year due to the pandemic and the possibility of more restrictions.
The carnival organisers are hoping to 'keep vistors and local entertained' through a series of smaller events throughout the summer, starting with the painting competition.
Each child's name, age and school must be written on the back of each painting and entries should be posted to Joyce Dunford, c/o A.G. Down, 66 South Street, Bridport, DT6 3NN. The closing date for entries is Friday, August 11.
