The night sky was a backdrop for spectacular thunder and lightning last night - and while things look more settled for the remainder of the weekend there is a chance that further night time drama could be in store on Sunday as a second yellow warning comes into force.

Today (Saturday) is looking dry and sunny. Yellow warnings for thunderstorms end at 10pm.

3pm: Cloudy and dry, 21 degrees

4pm: Overcast with patches of sunshine, 21 degrees

5pm: Overcast, 22 degrees

7pm: Overcast with patches of sunshine, 20 degrees

9pm: Overcast with patches of sunshine, 18 degrees

10pm: Overcast, 17 degrees

 

Sunday

A second yellow weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued for the south west and south east from 5am until midnight.

Forecasters say the south east is more likely to be affected, however.

8am: Overcast, 18 degrees

9am - 10am: Overcast, 19 degrees

11am: Overcast, 20 degrees

12pm: Overcast, 20 degrees, sunshine breaking through in parts of the county - but there is a 40% chance of rain in Weymouth.

1pm- 5pm: Patches of sunshine and rain showers, 21 degrees; 30% chance of rain

6pm -7pm: Overcast, 10% chance of rain, 21 degrees; 30% chance of rain

8pm - 9pm: Overcast, sunshine breaking through, 20 degrees

10pm -11pm: Overcast
