This beautiful light installation remembering lost loved ones can be seen in Lyme Regis this week.

Weldmar Hospicecare launched its memory jar light installation at the beginning of the month, featuring 200 jars which are powered by solar panels and glow as the sun sets during the evenings and shine through the night. Each jar contains a handwritten note featuring memories of people who are no longer with us.

The installation began in Sherborne and has now moved to Lyme Regis. It will remain in Langmoor Gardens until Sunday, July 25 before moving to Weymouth.

A spokesman for the charity said: “We invite you to light up your memories in our brand new memory jar installation which will be held across the county. Each memory jar will securely contain your memory, which is tailored and personal to you.

“The installations will be in place for ten days at each outdoor venue in Lyme Regis, Sherborne and Weymouth. Throughout each installation, you are invited to visit the display and view your own memory jar, reflect and remember.”
