DOG owners are at risk of their pets being exposed to five major dangers over the summer period.
In 2019, the latest figures from RSPCA reveal a three-year high for the number of reports of animals suffering heat exhaustion - with a total of 8,290 reports to the animal charity's emergency line across England and Wales.
In response, Kennelstore, the UK's largest dog housing superstore, have said the summer can bring an entire set of other worries for dog owners.

A spokesman from Kennelstore, said: "The warmer weather and the longer walks can pose certain risks for your pup, so to avoid them, you just need to know what to look out for.
"The five dangers include heatstroke, insects, sunburn, drowning hazards including the sea, ponds and lakes, and BBQ parties.
"Heatstroke and overheating are two most common problems that pets face when it's hot. Certain breeds can be affected by heat more than others.
"If a dog is suffering from heatstroke or dehydration, they might suffer from the symptoms including rapid breathing, extreme lethargy and weakness, excessive thirst. dry gums, thick and sticky saliva or vomiting and diarrhoea.
"If you notice any of these symptoms, removed your pet from the heat as soon as possible."
