A CELEBRATION to mark the first birthday of a community play area has been postponed.
The team at the Lower Walditch Play Area and Community Orchard were planning to celebrate its first birthday on Sunday, July 25.
Alongside the birthday celebrations, the team would also have been showing off its new 'Viking swing' which they were able to purchase after being awards close to £10,000 from the National Lottery's Community Fund.
A spokesman for the play area said: "The committee are sad to announce that due to the ongoing restrictions around Covid-19 we will have to postpone our birthday event which was due to take place on the 25th July. We hope to bring you some good news in the near future for a revised date whereby we can safely celebrate together."
The project to provide the area for the local community, off Gundry Road in Lower Walditch, was completed in July 2020 and has received positive feedback from residents.
The team at the play area and orchard hope to announce a new date soon.
