A MAN arrested in connection with an alleged assault where a second man had his front tooth knocked out has been released without charge.

At approximately 8pm on May 22 the victim, a local man aged in his 20s, was walking along an alleyway at the rear of the bowling green near to Priory Lane, Bridport, when he was approached by a group of six men.

The victim spoke to the men and it is reported that he was then assaulted. His front tooth was knocked out and he sustained injuries to his hand.

A 24-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of assault and has now been released without charge. He will face no further police action in connection with the incident.
