FREE parking for NHS and care workers in Dorset will end next month.

Free parking for NHS and care workers in car parks operated by Dorset Council will end at midnight on Monday, July 19 - the new date earmarked by the Government as the day all lockdown restrictions will be lifted.

Free parking was originally run for a limited time during the start of the pandemic, but was reinstated during each lockdown period, as well as continuing through December 2020.

The council has now confirmed that it will end on July 19.

Councillor Ray Bryan, Dorset Council portfolio holder for highways, travel and environment, said: "I'm pleased to continue out support for colleagues in the NHS and care sectors. These workers are providing a vital service to some of our most vulnerable and isolated residents."
