PATCH repairs will continue to be made to the listed historic Cobb harbour walls in Lyme Regis until a full-scale improvement plan is approved.
Dorset Council says it is waiting for agreement to be reached on phase 5 of the overall Lyme Regis improvement scheme before it can undertake anything other than minor repairs and maintenance to the historic structure.
At West Bay consultants have been investigating the eastern basin walls and walkways – coming up with what is said to be an extensive list of work which might be needed once further monitoring is completed.
Work on replacing timber piles at the harbour has now been delayed until the autumn, rather than start the work during the main tourist season.
