A BRIDPORT restaurant has reopened following a Covid scare last week.

The Ivy House Kitchen, located on the Groves Nurseries site, temporarily closed its doors last week after a member of its team contracted coronavirus.

Following self-isolation and regular testing, the staff member has recovered and the restaurant has once again reopened.

Charlie Groves, managing director at Groves Nurseries, said: "I will be honest, putting it out there on social media was one of the scariest bits of the whole incident but it is reassuring that there was so much understanding from everyone. Thank you so much for your overwhelming messages of support, it means so much to the team at such a difficult time.

"I am pleased to say that the affected person is fit and healthy again and made a full recovery. The team were regularly testing themselves whilst off - and will continue to do so - and we managed to isolate the incident to just the single original case. As far as I am aware there have been no cases linked to the public visiting Ivy House either.

"I do hope this goes to show that we do take our responsibility of operating in a COVID safe way seriously and that Ivy House is as safe as it has ever been."
