AN EXHIBITION of sea, sky and coast painting is coming to Lyme Regis.

Lyme Regis Museum's Rotunda Gallery will play host to Lyme Light, a solo exhibition of paintings and drawings by artist Pauline Sayers, a member of Lyme Bay Arts.

The exhibition, subtitled 'Where Sea Meets Sky', showcases Pauline's observations of the 'ever-changing' sea, sky and coast over the past year. Pauline’s technique involves sketching and taking photographs outside, then painting in oils or drawing with acrylic pens on unbleached linen once inside, sometimes combining the two mediums.

Pauline said: "My past year observing the ever-changing sea, sky and coast from different areas within Lyme Bay, looking out towards the dazzling light on the horizon in what has been an unprecedented time.

"2020 was a year where many have found being out in nature to be an uplifting and a positive force for renewal. My aim is for my paintings to convey some of the wonder and tranquillity of what we see when looking out towards the horizon.”

The exhibition will run from Tuesday, June 22 until Sunday, August 1.
