THE Bridport area's first ever inflatable theme park is coming this weekend.

The blow-up theme park, consisting of 11 large inflatables and roughly the size of a football pitch, will be transform the sports field outside Salwayash Village Hall on Saturday, June 19 and Sunday, June 20.

The session times on each of the days are 10am to noon, 12.30pm to 2.30pm and 3pm to 5pm.

The South West Inflatable Theme Park was started in Cornwall in 2017 by Liam Grimshaw and Poppy Carlos, and they decided to expand their operation to Dorset in 2019, bringing the park to Redlands Community Sports Hub in Weymouth.

Mr Grimshaw said: “Our events always go down well with the children – there's plenty there to keep them occupied and they always have a lot of fun.

"The theme parks are aimed at younger families with children. 12 is the age limit for the kids so it's a nice family day out - that's the aim, nothing like a fairground kind of atmosphere."

Tickets cost £6 per child, which will give them unlimited access to 11 large inflatables and the chance to meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse. There is also a soft play area complete with a smaller bouncy castle for children under the age of five. Food and drink will be available on site and adults can enter for £1.

Guidelines will be in place on the day to reduce the spread of coronavirus, including enforcement of social distancing, temperature checks on entry, track and trace and limiting the amount of people in the park at any one time. Inflatables will also be thoroughly cleaned throughout the day.
