RESIDENTS are being urged to stay out of direct sunlight for certain times of the day.
It comes as the county swelters, and after Dorset has just had its hottest weekend of the year so far.
The NHS is asking the public to check ultraviolet (UV) levels before they leave the home due to health risks the sun can have.
A spokesman from NHS Dorset CCG, said: "The best thing to do in the hot weather is stay out of the direct sun - especially between 11am and 3pm as ultraviolet (UV) rays are strongest during these hours.
"UV rays from the sun can damage eyes and skin.
"Check UV levels in your area if you're out and about."
