A DORSET business has teamed up with a mental health charity to promote exercise and raise cash for a good cause.

Dorset Mind is collaborating with R1SE Gym to promote the new June 500 Challenge - to help encourage people focus on their wellbeing by running, walking, cycling or swimming 500km over the course of this month.

The distance is approximately the same as travelling from Bournemouth to Paris – and is no mean feat to achieve.

The business said it wanted to help the charity after it saw a drop in income during the Covid pandemic.

R1SE Gym founder Ty Temel said: "We need to reinforce the message for people to look after themselves, keeping mentally and physically fit.

"We had 200 people involved last year, plus many donations and supporters, we would love to get the same or even more this year to support mental health."
