THE AVERAGE asking price of homes on the UK property market has increased yet again, according to Rightmove.

The property website says that the average asking price of homes coming on to the UK property market hit a high of a third of a million pounds in May.

Rightmove say the average asking price has increased by 1.8 per cent, or £5,767, over the past month to £333,564, as the property market recovers from the coronavirus pandemic and received a boost by the stamp duty holiday.

The coronavirus pandemic has also caused a rethink about people working from home as people are less willing to live in larger areas in order to commute to offices if their jobs can be effectively carried out at home.

Using Rightmove’s data, we have compiled a list of the places in Dorset where the lowest average house price was paid over the last 12 months and below the national average.

Portland comes out on top with the average price paid for a home at £221,803 – nearly £20,000 less than the average house price in Blandford Forum.
