RESIDENTS are being invited to join a number of guided walks through the west Dorset meadow.

Throughout the month of June, the Grey Long-eared Bat Project will be running ‘meadow magic’ guided walks, offering people the chance to learn why wildflower meadows are so important to our endangered wildlife.

Two of the four walks will visit meadows in and around Charmouth. The first of these will take place on Thursday, June 10 at Hogchester Meadows near Charmouth from 6.30pm until 8pm, the second will see residents visit Golden Cap Estate Meadows in Charmouth, from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, June 19.

Two further walks will take place in Colyton and Widworthy, on Saturday, June 5 and Sunday, June 13, respectively.

The walks will explore the habitat that is vital to the future of the grey long-eared bat. The events are part of the grey long-eared bat project’s work to increase meadow restoration and encourage bat-friendly wildlife gardening in local communities.
