A youth football team will take part in a tournament at a Premier League stadium after successfully raising the funds to cover the costs.

The Bridport Youth Football Club under 12s team raised more than £700 which is enough to cover their costs to take part in the tournament at St Mary’s Stadium - the home ground of Southampton FC.

The team held a sponsored dribble on the appropriately named St Mary's Playing Field on Saturday, May 22, with a goal of raising the £600 needed to cover the costs of participating in the tournament.

Every player worked hard to dribble balls around the playing field for the equivalent of 70 miles, completing 15 laps each. They were able to raise more than £700 between them, exceeding the amount of funds needed by more than £100.

The team had great support and will be travelling to Southampton to play in the tournament this weekend.
